Procedures:
Diagnostic cardiac & peripheral angiograms, interventional procedures (angioplasty, stents)—cardiac & peripheral, pacemaker implants, ICD implants, elective cardioversions, EPS, ablation
Common skills utilized:
Critical thinking, ACLS, observe hemodynamics and heart rhythm during procedures
Most common meds / those nurses must be familiar with:
Fentanyl, Versed
Care extenders used:
Radiology techs, transport
Certification for Differential:
CCRN or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
